ALAMAT – Filipino Identity Through P-pop
ALAMAT’s identity is strongly connected to Filipino culture, language, and regional pride. Unlike many pop groups that build identity mainly through sound or visuals, ALAMAT also uses language, clothing, choreography, mythology, and cultural references as part of its storytelling.
The group’s members represent different regions and backgrounds in the Philippines, allowing ALAMAT to highlight a wider idea of Filipino identity. Their music often includes different Philippine languages and cultural elements, helping make them one of P-pop’s most recognizable acts when it comes to representation.
Through songs like “kasmala,” “Maharani,” “Dayang,” “Hiraya,” “LuzViMinda,” and “Hapag,” ALAMAT continues to show how modern P-pop can carry both contemporary appeal and cultural meaning.
In their most viewed TikTok video to date, ALAMAT joins forces with SB19’s Josh, Pablo, and Ken Suson (FELIP) for an explosive dance performance to ALAMAT’s hit song “Maharani.” Taking center stage is FELIP, whose sharp, commanding movements elevate the routine into an unforgettable moment in P-pop history.
The clip showcases a rare and electrifying crossover between two generations of powerhouse performers. With ALAMAT’s synchronized execution and the presence of SB19’s top-tier idols, the video quickly captured the attention of fans—garnering millions of views and solidifying its status as a must-watch moment for anyone following the rise of Filipino pop.
Talent. Unity. Culture. This performance is everything.
